Scrolling does not always go down with the cursor

pachpict opened this issue · comments

Description of the problem or steps to reproduce

Open a new micro instance. Hold down enter. Once it goes off the bottom of the screen it will not scroll with the new lines, but the cursor will, so the cursor will be off screen. Pressing down key will not make it scroll down. Pressing the up key (thus changing line up on) will make it scroll down. Now scroll right to the top again. Now press page down. It will page down the cursor regardless, but on the final page down the view will not scroll down. Once again pressing down also does nothing, you have to move the cursor to 'reset' the scroll.

In other words the scroll loses track of the cursor when going down, but not when going up.

Specifications

Version: micro 2.0.9 (will try the issue on later release when in position to do so)
OS: Linux Mint 22
Terminal: xfce4-terminal

Do you have scrollmargin set to 0? If so, this sounds like the issue fixed by #2578. It is fixed since 2.0.12.

I do indeed. Thank you for such a quick response. I will roll out an update to our customers using micro on their Canute Consoles.
