Bibliography sometimes doesn't update after a manual change

Steps to reproduce:
- Pick "Modern Language Association 8th edition" as citations style
- Crete an entry using manual editor, set title to foo click "Done"
- Open newly-created entry for edit, change title to bar, click "Done".
What happens:
In the bibliography, item is still cited as foo instead of bar. This only happens in some citation styles.
