all minig sent to Legacy address

I put the default address in the address field but after mining a bit all mined coins went to a random legacy address, how do I retrieve those cons?
also, is there a way to switch the miner to a newer address type?
you should at least inform people that this miner is using a legacy address and please change the address type to segwit
