Is a multilingual version of Weblinks is planned?

Not sure if the OP meant to have locale-specific data or module. Will leave open for now with the understanding that gettext provides a multilingual module. If desired, translatable data fields could be added at a later date, but this seems like a lot of work for little benefit.
I think it is not the gettext itself. It is more the multilingual content like the content module allows you to have a german text and an english text as well. But is this needed for weblinks?
IMO, If gettext provides a multilingual module, then, I think this is all that is needed for now. Translatable data fields is a bonus, but, I think this would only be beneficial if the popularity of the module increases considerably and the native language groups are requesting it more.
