Umlauts gets corrupted, when using x2g command

Problem happens in google_drive gem version 0.3.8. When using command x2g, all umlauts are corrupted in google drive spreadsheet.
Downgrading to google_drive version 0.3.6 works.
Haven't tried version 0.3.7.
