Situation (S):
In the end week of CIS 430 class, I was asked to identify a problem on ASU campus with 4 classmates and solve it using learned technologies and present our solution on the end day.
Task (T):
Our goal was to solve a meaningful and solvable problem so academic professionals can be free for higher value work.
Action (A):
I convinced teammates of my brainstormed idea of solving dining issue during peak hours on ASU Tempe campus by conducting a quick survey in a 300-student class showing that 70% of them cared more about dining than parking. Then, I assigned work to teammates based on their capabilities and preferences. I mainly worked on implementing the Google Map Api to calculate time for walking from user location to various restaurants and connecting our Single Page Application to the MySQL DB with updated information of waiting lines. I also worked closely with my peers when combined and tested final work on Desktop, Android and iOS devices by studying online tutorials and asking professors.
Result (R):
Our final project connected businesses and consumers together with updated lines information and promotions. Plus the calculated walking time, on-campus consumers could choose the quickest food option when they got hungry.
