Is viewing metadata possible?

Is there a way to view the metadata in an image? For my photography class, this would be helpful since I need to make note of the aperture and what not. This would be pretty a pretty useful feature.
you can modify the image-info script to display whatever information you'd like about the current image

Awesome thanks, I'll link my config when I figure out how to use exiv2 and extract the info I need.
