Ability to display markdown files from other sources?

idan#70 suggests the ability to render markdown files from other sources than just gists.
Don't see the need for this anymore, especially since downloading stuff from random sources doesn't seem like something one would want to do. Differing opinions are welcome, of course, and this may be reopened in the future.
