I recently installed the wger docker-compose image. After running it and running the optional download of exercises

docker-compose exec web python3 manage.py sync-exercises
docker-compose exec web python3 manage.py download-exercise-images
docker-compose exec web wger load-online-fixtures

I logged in and tried to add an exercise. When on the "new set" page, I search for a common exercise (bench press, for instance), and first it says No items found! but shortly after it says in red Error: Instance of 'NoSuchEntryException'.
I can't add exercises if they are not on the list, even if I write down the exercise name, below the search box a text appears that says Please select an exercise.

What seems to be the problem? I have repeatedly run the commands above to sync the exercises, but that won't solve the issue.

Hi! Are you using the application in English? There is still a bug that the exercises are only searched in the currently selected language, which often means that there are basically no results

Yes, I'm using the application in English. Should I search for the exercises in a different language, or should English be okay?

If you are using the application in English everything should work, specially some common exercises like bench press. I'll try and see if I can reproduce this on my end

everything works fine here. In any case I have pushed a new version of the app and the server which had some fixes around the exercise search, but nothing that would result in your errors. Just to be sure, can you do a docker compose exec web python3 manage.py exercises-health-check and docker compose exec web python3 manage.py sync-exercises?

When I execute docker compose exec web python3 manage.py exercises-health-check I get nothing, no success or failure message. I have also tried running the command from within the docker container, but still nothing.

docker compose exec web python3 manage.py sync-exercises shows the list of exercises that are being updated.

the health check only outputs something when it finds errors, so that's alright. It just doesn't make sense. Which specific exercises are triggering that NoSuchEntryException error?

All of them. I search for barbell or dumbbell and I get the error. Now, however, the error I am getting is slightly different. I still get the No item found! error, but after a couple seconds I get Error: type '_OneByteString' is not a subtype of type 'Map<String, dynamic?'
As a sidenote, maybe helps, I get these errors when using the phone. I am not able to log in via browser because I get a 403 CSRF verification failed. Request aborted.

That could be it.. As soon as I can I will try to capture the traffic, see what is being transmitted. Since it's plaintext I should be able to see the whole conversation and data that is being sent.

that might be indeed interesting. The search path is /api/v2/exercise/search/?language=en&term=bench you can try and see if it returns anything. On the other hand it might be something else that makes problems, like the images

I have updated several times with docker-compose exec web python3 manage.py download-exercise-images and they all appear inside the docker container, path /home/wger/media/exercise-images, but for some reason it won't find them...

Also, logging in via web browser won't load the images or CSS. I am at a total loss right now.

Same issues. Compose file is up to date, images are up to date, performed a full sync and am still getting the same issue. I did manage to be able to see everything on the computer properly with images, but I cannot manage to add workouts from the web either.

I also tried using the demo with docker run -ti --name wger.demo --publish 8000:80 wger/demo but I keep getting the same error, for some weird reasons images don't load. At this point I'm guessing it's a problem with my docker or something, otherwise it makes no sense at all...
I'm running it on a QNAP NAS, but all my other docker containers on it work fine.

If you nuke everything and try again with the latest image it should work again, still need to think what to do with existing (broken) instances
