Reusing a xfer chat buffer after an /upgrade breaks the buffer

Describe the bug
After doing an /upgrade, I did (re-)establish an dcc chat session that I lost by doing the upgrade.
But all text entered is not going anywhere.
Steps to reproduce
- Have an open dcc chat
- Do an
/upgrade - Reestablish the dcc connection using
/dcc chat <nick> - Try to send any text to your chat partner.
Current behavior
Text is not send and does not appear in the buffer
Expected behavior
Text is sent
