Hello,

I suggested adding this Lachenmann clef to SMuFL, an example of it being used in Lachenmann's Toccatina :

Below is the Glyph I made, although it spans two staves, the glyph should be attached as to have the tip of the fingerboard attached to the middle of the top staff :

Has anyone except Lachenmann used this in a score? He's amazing, but I think our general rule is usage by two composers published by an independent publisher.

You can consider this as an alternate glyph to the already existing bridge clef (dedicated to one staff) it can be useful when one whiches to use two staves. I am not sure whether another composer has used it but Lachenmann's influence on notation is undisputed. Many fellow engravers and composers have asked me to make this clef for them.

One can make the case that SMuFL does contains several glyphs that were used exlusively by one composer like Penderecki's senza misura (I am not aware of another composer using that particular design for senza misura), or some ornaments that are present and that were exclusively used by one composer or stockhausen's tongue clicks, finger-clicks...etc. I think it can only be good to include symbols used by composers who made a huge impact on notation like Lachenmann, since he invented many notational devices for instrumental musique concrète.
Is it niche? yes. but not any more than some Purcell ornaments or a Haydn's turn.

I'm not how we could practically come up with registration guidelines for this clef. I wonder whether it would make sense to create it at a size suitable for a single staff and recommend that the scoring application uses a larger font size?

I think the solution you propose is the most efficient way of integrating it !
