Change default font-family

I've had good luck with Consolas, 'Liberation Mono', Courier, monospace as the font for the editor window. The default font, Monaco, is inconsistently monospaced. It is wider for bold characters causing misalignment.
This is also the font-family that GitHub uses for it's code sections.
