history command and nondeterministic transcripts

We have some transcripts that fail CI depending on how fast it runs, changing history log output from now to 1 second ago or something like that.

I don't have any ideas for a good fix, and it's hard to claim it's the most important thing we could work on, but it is annoying that it sometimes causes CI to fail.
