Google auth fails due missing redirect_uri

As per instructions cloned from git, set the two environment variables, and run the server. Google's service throws an error about missing parameter. My client id, and secret are correct.
Authorization Error
Error 400: invalid_request
Missing required parameter: redirect_uri
