Tried to install chezmoi multiple ways but keep getting Illegal Operation

How did you install chezmoi? You mentioned multiple different tries, and the output you included suggests that an incorrect binary was installed.
Can you try installing this with https://www.chezmoi.io/developer-guide/using-make/?
I suspect that you're trying to use chezmoi on a very old Raspberry Pi which is no longer supported by Go.
What is the output of
sort /proc/cpuinfo | uniq -c
on your Raspberry Pi?
