Evaluate recent memcached changes

In the long term, we should look at evaluating how we can push some of our changes and ideas to memcached upstream.
We have evaluated all the changes since memcached 1.4.4 (but before memcached 2.0 as it's a completely different code base) and backported features that we think are useful for Twemcache. Closing this issue now.
