Changing a contact's name does not update it in past e-mails

Describe the bug
When changing a contact's name in the "Contacts" menu, I expect older emails to adapt to this new name as well. However, this is not the case.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Go to, for example, the "Sent" folder. Select a contact whose name you want to change (e.g., "J").
- Go to "Contacts" and change that contact's name (e.g., change "J" to "John").
- Go back to the "Send" folder. Although the contact's name was changed to "John", the email still displays as having been sent to "J".
Expected behavior
Changing a contact's name should apply to past sent emails as well.
