Need help opening the sidenav-subnav items to the right when sidenav is in expanded mode

I would like the SideNav-SubNav Items to behave the same in both Sidenav.Expanded and SideNav.Collapsed mode. The SideNav-SubNav Items should open to the right on hover instead of displaying in the bottom even when in Expanded mode.

We have a lot of subNav items and we want the items to open on to the side.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
