More LED Control

GoogleCodeExporter opened this issue · comments

Is it possible to have more control over the LEDs? For example, when both HDDs
are on standby mode, I would prefer the lights of the HDDs to be off, and not
in "airplane mode" like now (blue + red lights). ;)

Also, I prefer the on/off button to be off most of the time, maybe only have
the lights on when turning the unit on or off, or if there is a problem...

LEDs are visual indicators of activity, and I think that the current Alt-F
behaviour is fine. Of course your preferences might be different.

Of course I could setup an option to not blink the disk leds when they are in
standby, or turn the power light off instead of on...

For me personally behavior of the hdd lights is perfect, but not of the power
button. Its light is very bright :( I prefer that it will be almost always
"off" and "on" only for important messages (Errors, warnings, poweron, etc)
It will be great make customization of the behavior of the lights.

P.S. many thanks for really great firmware!

closed by svn commit 1653:

-turns power led off when a disk goes to standby, and turns it on again when a
disk wakeups
-can't do the same with the network led
