Release version 0.8.3 with update YAML dependency

Main branch of this project specifies pyyaml ^6 but latest release is pyyaml ^5, this is creating dependency conflicts in some of our projects that make it impossible to upgrade pyyaml.
Hello! It's been a month since i opened this issue, and a year since the last commit on the project. I'd be interested in taking over ownership of the repository if it isn't being maintained anymore. I find it quite useful and am using it on several projects. Please let me know if that's something you'd be interested in.
