When inputting certain phrases into the question text, the readability estimate shows "between -1th and 0th grade." Some examples of this include "This is a committee", "This is a beekeeper", and "This is a processor". A potential solution for this could be setting a minimum value of 0th grade, so that the lowest it can go is 0th-1st grade.

Additionally, adding a period to the end, like "This is a committee." gives between 11th and 12th grade. I do not think a period should have this much of an impact, especially because punctuation often makes ciphers more readable rather than less.
