Maitaining session problem!

Hello! Sorry for my eng .. im from Portugal!
Im having a problem! Im doing a website and im working on the auth system!
My problem is, that every time i close my browser my session is lost but i still keep the cookie and session key in redis!
What i was trying to do, was to make a auth system that the user logins and after one day the session resets and he has to login again!
Can you help?
