macOS: Work-in-progress Metal backend that partially works

Because I do not have a recent enough Mac, I cannot test this on hardware, therefore the entire backend has been written blindly.
Thankfully one tester jumped ship, but reported that it wouldn't work at all. Furnace no longer launches.
Another tester also did, and together we managed to get something on the screen!
However a couple memory leaks have been reported, of which I am trying to diagnose.
