Can we update the OS after installation?

I was able to install Monterey using the instructions. After the installation, I saw an update available to Monterey 12.3.1 and I decided to update it. Now when I start the VM, I see the following screen
I click Main, I don't think the 12.3.1 update is installed (as I still see the update available). Clicking on Macintosh HD does not help either - it just goes into a loop.
So, I just wanted to confirm if we can update the OS from inside the VM. Thanks!
You can in general update from within the VM. You need to pick Macintosh HD to update (you may need to select it a couple of times).
But I haven't tested 12.3 yet myself.
