"Bit tag" doesn't execute "publish"

Hello. Referring to this guide #4707 and this one https://bit.dev/reference/packages/publishing-components-to-commonjs-registries, I understand that after executing the bit tag command, my package should be published to my custom registry. However, this is not happening, and I find myself having to do bit publish manually. What could be the problem?

Bit version: 1.5.29
Node.js version: 20+
