This example demonstrate how to embed tiles from different providers as a layer within a Google Map (i.e. using the google maps javascript library for map display, but displaying other map tiles).

Notes on Google Maps API for Work
If you are a business user you are licensing the Google Maps API for Work, so to use any other map with the Google API would mean an Enterprise license is needed as stated in the T’s & C’s.
