Standard display behavior of primary metadata

farski opened this issue · comments

Re: the main bits of information about a given episode (for what is currently available: title, subtitle, description, summary, content:encoded, etc), there should be a fairly standard way of clients choosing when to display which pieces of data.

Currently there are many issues with feeds re-using values for multiple metadata; until publisher behavior changes it would likely be necessary for clients to de-dupe that information.

In a situation where lots of space is available, and all the current metadata are being utilized effectively (ie, have different, proper values) what should be displayed? Is there anything that should be displayed that isn't currently available in the feed?

This is one of the areas I want to learn from listeners and producers. From listeners learn what are they currently doing when listening to an episode in mobile so that we can have the input of what is needed and from producers how to better display that specific data.
