What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Click on one of the e-mail messages you're received - you may have to hit 
play, but this doesn't seem to be consistent, i.e. sometimes it plays 
automatically
2. before the message stops playing, start a mission

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The e-mail text will be displayed over the HUD. Additionally, many keys will 
not respond, such as esc (menu), f1-4 (views), and r (radio). These keys still 
will not respond after the text has disappeared. 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
5.0.5 on Windows 7

Please provide any additional information below.
I think the keys not responding thing sometimes also happens when I'm expected 
to break orbit to go to a ground mission, but I'm not sure yet. When I'm 
pressing keys to try to get a response, sometimes some of the text on my HUD 
will flash, e.g. CANNON, MRM 2, etc. No idea what causes that flashing, it 
doesn't seem to directly and immediately respond to any keypress.

If you would use the game how it suppose to be used it won't happen. Cancel the 
message and then play the mission. And another fact - this has little to do 
with source code. It is controlled by campaign.def and attached files what can 
be found in shatter.dat .
