Why don't we display item icons in search results?

In core ArcLight there are three different icons used to give the user a visual hint as to the type of item each search result item is:

In VT we show the collection icon for the one VT collection item we have, and we show the folder icon for parent container items. But for component items, we show the folder icon instead of the file icon like in core ArcLight:

Is there a reason we can't display the folder icon as in core ArcLight? The icons pretty much lose their value if they aren't actually differentiating anything.
