< Character in documentation is horribly broken

< doesn't return any results. Must be some datatables or javascript issue

In case it helps, X< and Y< don't give any results either

Strangely, this works just fine in isolation: https://jsfiddle.net/h3bw930s/1/ however if we use the JSON version of the MATL documentation it does not https://jsfiddle.net/rhzcas0h/1/

It definitely has to do with < needing to be replaced by <; however, it's strange that I can't reproduce it outside of the MATL docs.
