XDM chrome integration always result in error: Unchecked runtime.lastError: Cannot create item with duplicate id download-any-link

Question

Hello, I'm trying to add an integration into chrome and followed the described steps in the new version while using the provided extension here: https://github.com/subhra74/xdm/tree/master/app/XDM/chrome-extension

The extension gets installed but everytime I start a download, it either gets captured by chrome's embedded download manager or just doesn't start. And while looking in the extension's error log, I see this message:

Unchecked runtime.lastError: Cannot create item with duplicate id download-any-link

I UPDATED THE EXTENSION TO MANIFEST V3,'
but due to the cors issue, I also had to update
the xdman.jr that is in the root folder of XDM,
YOU NEED TO DOWNLOAD my version of xdman.jar and replace the one in the root folder (DON'T FORGET TO GO TO "File" --> "Exit" first).

YOU MUST ENABLE DEVELOPER MODE IN CHROME, IN EXTENSIONS,

HERE IS THE EXTENSION. YOU MUST UNZIP AND DRAG AND DROP THE "xdm-extesion-manifest-v3" FOLDER

Or assuming you use windows you can download it from C:\Users\yourusername\xdm-app-data\chrome-extension.
