`wordpress.test` is missing from `slic` container's `/etc/hosts`

When running Codeception acceptance tests that need to access the wordpress.test site within slic, the slic container is unable to resolve the hostname because it is missing from /etc/hosts. The hostname is, however, present in the wordpress container.
