disable transition effect

when i switch workspace, open rofi or the terminal or any other program, there is this transition effect that slows down my pc and rarely crashes. heres the effect

Hello there, and sorry for the (extremely) late response.
I did a test on this, and on my hardware it doesn't seem to slow anything down. I believe you should apply the change just on your machine to fix this, I wouldn't go as far as removing it from the code if it doesn't apply to most users.
Issues like this tend to happen from time to time since we all run different hardware.

Hi, I've switched to DWM after this issue (not because of the lag or problem, but because I like it more than i3). I could, indeed, disable the fading effect by removing/commenting the fading code that's on the picom.conf. Thanks anyways for the response, have a great day
