Hi @FontanaMario, I moved your comment here as this is a different issue than the one we discussed in #633
@FontanaMario This can happen when the MSI installation file is not found in the Windows Installer cache.
It should be possible to solve the problem by re-downloading the Bravo.1.0.2.x64.msi file and selecting it as the source file when prompted to enter an alternate path to the installation package.
https://github.com/sql-bi/Bravo/releases/download/v1.0.2/Bravo.1.0.2.x64.msi
Which version of Bravo is currently installed?
Can you try these steps ?
- Download
Bravo.1.0.2.x64.msi
https://bravorelease.blob.core.windows.net/bravo-internal/2023/06/01/20230601.1-1.0.8552.15944/Bravo.1.0.2.x64.msi (version 1.0.8552.15944 it's an internal build so the installer it's not available on GitHub) - Download
Bravo.1.0.4.x64.msi
https://github.com/sql-bi/Bravo/releases/download/v1.0.4/Bravo.1.0.4.x64.msi - Run the
Bravo.1.0.4.x64.msi
installer - When the dialog box below appears, select the file
Bravo.1.0.2.x64.msi
and proceed with the update
Hi @FontanaMario, could you try installing version 1.0.2 (Bravo.1.0.2.x64.msi
) ? You can download it here https://bravorelease.blob.core.windows.net/bravo-internal/2023/06/01/20230601.1-1.0.8552.15944/Bravo.1.0.2.x64.msi
This MSI installer contains the same version you currently have installed and should allow you to perform the removal or repair procedure as shown in the following image
Bom dia, poderiam me ajudar, agora não consigo mais abrir o recurso dentro do Power BI Desktop:
Versão Instalada:
O Aplicativo do Bravo abre:
Mas quando tento abrir via Power BI Desktop aparece uma mensagem de erro:
Aparece a seguinte mensagem:
O executável Bravo não foi encontrado. Entre em contato com o autor da ferramenta para obter suporte.
Hi @FontanaMario, the error indicates that Windows Installer is unable to remove the previous instance of Bravo (version 1.0.2 build 1.0.8552.15944) before installing the upgrade to version 1.0.4. I noticed that you are using a virtualized environment (Terminal Server) and that the user you are using now to perform the upgrade (alteryx.admin) is probably different from the one you used previously (fwc.lteles) to install version 1.0.2.
Could you try running the update using the same user you used to install version 1.0.2 (fwc.lteles) ?
onde eu consigo encontrar as versões anteriores do bravo? posso tentar instala-las para ver se completa a instalação.
The Bravo.1.0.5.x64-userinstaller.msi
installer contains the same binaries as the Bravo.1.0.5.x64.msi
package (per-machine installer), but it does not require admin privileges and therefore does not install Bravo as an external tool in PBI Desktop. These versions can be installed side-by-side and are shown as two separate apps in the list of installed programs
The error "The older version of Bravo can not be removed. Contact your technical support group." indicates that Windows Installer is unable to upgrade the previous instance of Bravo due to damage or loss of files needed in the system to uninstall the software, such as corruption of Windows Installer cache folder.
In this case, I think that a troubleshooting tool that helps repair problems automatically might help but, since repairing this kind of issues may require modifying system files or system registry keys, I suggest you contact your IT support assistance.
