Search Head Deployer pod defaults - how to configure differently from search head?

Great works here getting this operator together. Kudos everyone involved.
In setting up Splunk with this wonderful operator, providing defaults (e.g. custom roles, saml integration, etc) can be done via the defaultsUrl and some configmaps mounts. This does not work for deployer pod because it inherits everything from search-head that starts it. Is there a way to do this, or a totally different method to get things done available?
