Browser and Search Engine doesn't change on Windows 11 Pro

Bug Description
When I press Start to search for something on the web, it doesn't open with the default browser I set on the Search Deflector app and also doesn't search with the Search Engine I chose in the app.
How to Reproduce
- Set up your preferred Browser and Search Engine in the Search Deflector app.
- Search for Anything on the Start Menu.
Browser: Edge
Search Engine: Google
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Set up your preferred Browser and Search Engine in the Search Deflector app.
- Search for Anything on the Start Menu.
Expected Behavior
It should open the browser and search engine I chose.

Actually you can fix this if you go to default apps and change the default action of deflector.exe which is edge you have to choose deflector.exe and works again.

I tried going through your steps but there doesnt seem to be any option where I can choose deflector.exe
Are there any alternatives to this method?

Thank you for responding but the only options I have are shown below. Would there be a difference if Search Deflector is installed from a standalone installer and Microsoft Store? I installed mine through Microsoft Store.
