HOW TO BUILD ============ After downloading and extracting the project, navigate to the root directory of the project and type "ant -f project3.xml" . This invokes the ANT build script. HOW TO RUN ========== NOTE: In order to use the GUI mode, you MUST have given ssh the -X argument! (i.e. when running ssh, type "ssh -X myusername@cs1.utdallas.edu" After the build completes, run the program by typing the following: java -cp intellij_redist/:out/production/Project3/ WebBrowser [additiong arguments] PROGRAM ARGUMENTS ================= The first argument (optional) must always be a webpage URL. NO SPACE ALLOWED IN URLS! Make sure all spaces are encoded (i.e. %20)! The second argument (optional) The second argument (optional) must be "cli" to invoke command-line interface mode. Example callstrings: # invokes CLI mode java -cp intellij_redist/:out/production/Project3/ WebBrowser http://www.utdallas.edu/ cli # invokes GUI mode java -cp intellij_redist/:out/production/Project3/ WebBrowser http://www.utdallas.edu/ # invokes GUI mode with no initial URL java -cp intellij_redist/:out/production/Project3/ WebBrowser FINAL NOTES =========== When loading http://assets.climatecentral.org/images/uploads/news/Earth.jpg , the pageload will hang approximately half of the time. I guess this is probably occuring due to some sort of hotlinking prevention. Please attempt http://www.utdallas.edu/~ozbirn/image.html instead.
