Suffice to say I am not able to pay for TinyURL API premium at this time, so I will be deprecating this if / until I can find a cheaper and more stable solution, perhaps self-hosted.
NOTE: The old TinyURL service will still show a shortened link (e.g. if no values were entered yet as shown below) on any URL's previously shortened. However, any new "run data output links" will not create new shortened URL's.
- In general, any shortened URL's previously generated by the former TinyURL integration remain valid, and in general TinyURL short links do not expire
- I will try to find / create this functionality (re-using shortened URL strings when the original URL is identical) in the replacement link shortener (if there is one). Since no personal data is collected by the Full Game Time Calculator, just level names and level times, it is performant / preferable to re-use shortened links for identical data
Nonetheless, I will be removing the feature altogether for now as I do not believe a URL shortener that does not work on unique new runs is worth including in the app, just use an external link shortener website like https://tinyurl.com (their actual website is free to use), or https://cutt.ly directly in the meantime.
I will keep this issue open just because I am still actively looking for a replacement link shortener API (that fits my finances / use case)
