Formation of Committee

JesperDramsch opened this issue · comments

For the purpose of enforcing a code of conduct a committee should be formed to enable reports against members of said committee.

I suggest modelling how Django has been doing it:

Committee tries to keep the number as small as possible due to sensitivity of the matter, but big enough to achieve diversity of the views and fast response time to incoming reports.

Whenever there is a need to add new members, committee reviews proposals from people who volunteered thus far but are not on the committee yet. If that number is still too low, a call for volunteers is published on Django blog.

  • Dedicated email coc@softwareunderground.org that forwards to the committee.
  • Fixed term to avoid guilt for stepping down from the committee.
  • Two Vice-chairs with a dedicated email each if a committee member is an alleged bad actor.
  • Publishing of Members in this repository
  • Call for volunteers on slack
