Consider 0.8.1 release for concurrency issue fix

We fixed #63 on main but it did not make it to a 0.x release yet while main is getting revamped to new modules etc.

Shall we release a 0.7.1 with just the fix so adopters can avoid the concurrency issue while we flesh out the library's new shape?

Thanks for bringing it up! Yeah, I think tagging a 0.8.1 with this fix would be good 👍 If you don't mind, could you please create the tag? I probably won't have time to do it myself today.
