Problems with Folder Switch Android/data

hehk1234 opened this issue · comments

Good Night

I'm having trouble trying to preserve my skyline saves, it seems that since Android 12 to 13 google has been adding restrictions on the android/data folder. When I try to copy and paste the switch folder from skyline.emu, it gives an error "permission denied" not even in android's native file explorer the switch folder does not go. I don't know if there's a solution for this besides root, but it would be interesting if skyline had the option to create a folder away from Android/data, at least from saves. Because if one day some internal update of my cell phone fails and I need to do a hard reset, I'll have a backup.

Thanks for all the work and support.

Guys, I emphasize that this copy and paste problem only happens in the switch folder, the shaders cache folders and the others copy and paste works without any problem. My device is Motorola X40.

The phone treats /Android/data the same way it does /data in most cases. It is considered an app-restricted folder. This was considered the "problem" with physical sdcards, since they couldn't limit permissions on them the same way they can with an emulated sdcard.

The way to back it up would be to open the emulator and choose the settings option to view the internal folder. From there, long press to select the folder you want and use the context overflow (3 dot) mentu to select the copy to option. Place it in a shared location, such as Download(s). From there, you can move it wherever you want in your regular file management app. Copying it back would simply be the reverse of this.
