FWIW, an unclosed comment in chapter 3 produces this message

After I stumbled over another one in chapter 6 I scanned quickly through the book and found two more: chapters 16 and 18

I don't know why but my search is broken and don't match the string "Double hyphen within comment", so if you found other errors like that, please don't hesitate to post them :)
I will. If you wanted to be on the safe side, you could add https://github.com/w3c/epubcheck to your book production pipeline. It finds most EPUB problems
