Login pasword bug

oldbrad opened this issue · comments

Just installed on latest Linux Mint running on Dell Inspiron 15 3000 with i7 processor. Caprine installed from caprine_2.59.3_amd64.deb

First login fails with "Please re-enter your password The password you entered in incorrect."
when Continue clicked, or enter pressed the password text box is flooded with spurious, hidden characters. Pointer crash!

The password is definately correct.

I have it too - but even WITHOUT Caprine!

What do you mean, without Caprine? We are discussing Caprine in /sindresorhus/caprine git.

Please explain. Are you saying that some other app is flooding the text box with ********* or just that you have the failed password message?

Just like you: the text box is filled with ******* then wrong password message. I'm thinking if this problem is Messenger side.

Must be messenge.

Ofcourse Facebook/messenger does not like anything other than Windoze. :((
I'll try a post in facebook opensource group.

It seems like the filling with asterisks (**********) is intended even on Messenger.com in a browser, but it should then redirect to another page where you need to "go to your Facebook account to confirm". This is definitely a strange Messenger behavior, but it's not caused by any modifications from Caprine.

Currently it works fine even on Caprine, asterisks filling's still there.

Arch Linux with Caprine on extra repo
