Allow cropping on preview?!

It would be amazing if it was possible to crop it down on preview. I don't remember if it was on the early early stages of this app or the other scan app on the store but I remember seeing that and that it self made de printer/scanner only get that part and speedup the scanning process by a lot for small things.

Just and Idea :).

Hi there, improving the preview experience is already on my to-do list, including the ability to limit the scan to a specific region, so this will definitely be added. Unfortunately it's probably gonna take a while, since I'll need to resolve some related issues for a polished release.

Thank you for your feedback, I'll update this issue once it's ready!

Oh great :) You doing this project by yourself? been using since the beginin I think, but never stopped to wonder about helping since i've done my share of c# coding xd

Yup, the code is 99% mine and it's awesome to hear that you've been a user for such a long time! I'm mostly interested in the usability and aesthetic aspects of the app development, but you can always help out with some of the issues that I rarely find time for (e.g. drawing on a page causing it to change its resolution or the resolution ComboBox not being filtered which can cause it to display basically every single possible number in a given range for some more flexible scanners).
Though I have to admit that adding major features / UI might be a touchy subject for me, if the concept/presentation doesn't really fit my vision for the app 🙈

Hi there, I've been putting some work into this and was wondering if you could answer a follow-up question I came across: Would you want to select this region each time, or rather once and expect it to stick (perhaps even across app sessions?) until you actively remove the selection?

Oh sorry, email flooded with crap didnt even see the message haha. Well i think the way I saw another app work was auto exclude all white areas (probably by getting the whiteness in the RGB of the "nothing" part of the scanner" and leave only the rest selected on visualization mode, then the person could check and modify if it wasnt perfect and scan faster with smaller pieces. I dont think theres a need for storing the same selection of space since people never scan even two identical A4 papers perfectly. (my opinion only ofc xd)

I updated the preview in the latest release (v3.1). Flatbed previews now allow you to select a specific region to scan. For more details see here.
