Doesn't work in a mac terminal

Using visual studio on a mac to create a console app. When you format a string with Pastel and print it to the VS terminal window, nothing comes out and all further output is lost. Same project works on PC fine. The built in Console.ForegroundColor works but has a limited selection of colours compared to Pastel.
I will admit, I don't have much experience in developing on a Mac and have actually not tested Pastel there myself. Are you using the integrated VS terminal? Does it work in other terminals on your system?
