"Downloading Update" and other notifications cover up the icons in a popped-out controller

Describe the bug
Toast notifications cover up bottom left icons of popped-out controller.
Expected behavior
- Being able to close a notification
- Notification not being in the wrong place
- Notifications disappearing on their own after a few seconds instead of persisting for so long
- Same notification not repeating itself (don't check for updates so often)
