Install script from Docs doesn't detect newer OS's

In the install script used in the Docs, the detect_os function won't install some components (e.g., pygpgme) due to the fact that newer OS's (e.g., Amazon, Alma, Rocky) aren't being detected or handled. The function should be improved to support these newer operating systems or releases.
@asachs01 we unfortunately don't have any control over that file. We'll need to reach out to packagecloud about it.
