I was just wondering if this great project is being actively maintained or not?

Indeed, there has been a significant decrease in activity lately. The team was busy building a https://ui.scandipwa.com/ – a vision of ScandiPWA's future.
Basically, our team is ready to continue keeping the project up to date with latest Magento versions, but the project became too large to "experiment" with. We would like to update our technology stack, look & feel. We needed to take a break to play in some simpler environment to determine our technology strategy for the future.
