Mod "RECENT POST" page no longer functioning

Freshly uploaded un-tainted copy of /inc/, for some reason recent posts showing up empty no matter what and a message showing up claiming recent posts are empty.
ideas?
Replace /templates/themes as well, possibly also another directories.
