recaptcha_public only visible via mod.php

After setting $config['recaptcha'] = true and putting in the keys from google, http://site.name/board still shows no recaptcha fields, as if $config['recaptcha'] was still set to false, while http://site.name/mod.php/board does show it. Why can that be?
Oh, sorry, issue can be closed: I simply forgot to rebuild the index page.
